STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I would like to do a master that give me access to the professional sphere at international field or give me the relevant knowledge to continue on with a PhD, linked my favorite subjects macroeconomic, microeconomic, econometric and finance; but, at same time, I want to study at the highest level in a recognize institution, for these reasons I think one of the best options is Carlos III University.

This could be a well summary.

The next paragraphs might seem silly thing (perhaps they are it) but staying in my mind and in my heart specially two.

First idea The world is a very complicate place, and the economist can not be different. Currently millions and millions of people are starving to death, are fighting in absurd wars, are unemployed, are working in a precarious job… and in others much negative and alienated situations. The economy has a main “duty “: To make, encourage, promote the humans capacities. All economists have to fight for a society more efficient and human, a society with a centre; the humanity.

Everyday and in everywhere we can do it.

This is one of my bigger reasons: studying, learning and working hard I do not know if I can improve something; maybe no, but, if I take the opportunity, I will be able to try. I think than I go on studying I will a base more solid.

Second idea Some year ago, I dived in Isaac Asimov’s Foundation universe; where I discovered an interesting idea: “psychohistory”; combining history, sociology and mathematical statistics to make nearly exact prediction of the collective actions of very large groups of people. I love this concept, too much unreal today.

On purpose, other people like Oswald Spengler in The Decline of the West, where the author analyzed different real cultures and created a civilization model; he shows some patterns and fix point…

This idea is fascinating: the possibility of forecast the FUTURE (in capital letters, not variables like sales or prices although also).

Here I have written two stimulating ideas. In my opinion I have a reasonable high bass in mathematics, statics, econometric, macroeconomics and microeconomics; if I work in these materials I will considerate me very fortunate.

I believe in myself.
